The Bau- und Kunststoff GmbH is established in Troisdorf,
Germany, on the 21. February. Mr. Manfred Hawerkamp
starts as technical manager in the company, his father
Werner Hawerkamp becomes a major shareholder in the
new business.

The
bauku GmbH plays a major role in the compilation and
approval of the German DIN 16961 for pipes that are
profiled outside and smooth on the inside. |

different parts of the company`s machines are developed,
manufactured, assembled and put into operation in house
- from the welding extruder to the complete bauku system
extrusion line. |

Three generations of the family Hawerkamp are now working
at the company. |

The
bauku plays a leading role in the European standardisation
for profiled plastic pipes in the working group CEN
TC 155. |

The
colour of the plastic pipe systems changed to a light
grey. HDPE is still the raw material for the pipe production. |
